Inside an Editorial Branding Photoshoot with Coach Carol Elizabeth

When I first met Carol, I knew there was something magical about her. I met her at a networking brunch and she has an energy you can feel instantly. I was doing headshots for each attendee and after hers we chatted and she said she wanted to work together again. I had no idea what was to come, and that we would work together several times, including hosting a workshop together.

So many of our beliefs and values align. And what I love the most about Carol is that she is constantly evolving. She understands that the next level in her business requires shedding old beliefs, adopting new identities, and taking bold action. Every time she experiences one of these evolutions, she books a branding photoshoot.

For this particular branding photoshoot, Carol wanted to be positioned as a speaker, a leader, a coach. It was no longer just about being a fitness trainer (which she did for many years); it was about the mindset shifts that need to happen in order to make big life changes possible.

Carol needed to be positioned as the authority, but she’s also a lot of fun. The photoshoot needed to capture both sides: showcase her as an expert while also showing that her process is full of fun and a little bit of magic.

PLANNING THE SHOOT

It was clear that Carol was the focus of this shoot and we didn’t need a lot of props or scenes. We determined that going for an editorial style – and shooting on backdrops in her brand colours – was the most impactful.

By keeping the background simple yet bold, Carol and her expertise became the main focus. Her outfits and expressions reinforce her philosophy that deep transformation can be fun and magical.

That Toronto Studio was the perfect choice for this branding photoshoot. It has tons of backdrop colours and a white room that we used for some ethereal portraits of Carol.

THE RESULTS

Carol and I were thrilled at how the photos turned out. The ones shot on the pink backdrop instantly became our favourites and since then, Carol has used one of these photos as the main header for her website.

She has also used her photos as her speaker headshots, to promote her workshops and collaborations, and reel covers on Instagram.

These photos have not only helped strengthen her personal brand, but they have strengthened my brand as well. Since posting her photos, I have had many people reach out and say they want to do a shoot similar to Carol’s.

There is a reason these photos continue to get so much attention: you can feel the energy of them. Carol and I had gotten so clear on what her next level in business looked like that she had complete confidence going into this shoot.

This is why I offer a Next Level Brand Questionnaire with my most popular brand photography packages. This questionnaire does a deep dive on what your next chapter looks like and who you need to embody to get there.

Carol was crystal clear on what the next stage of her business looked like and she showed up as that version of herself. Her confidence, her outfits, expressions, and poses all reflected her highest self.

If you’re a female entrepreneur that’s going through an evolution right now, I want you to think about what bold action you can take to transition to that other side. You can show up as that evolved version of yourself NOW.

My brand photography packages don’t capture where you’re at now, they capture who you are becoming. Because if you are evolving and growing, you need photos that can keep up with you.

I want to hear about your evolution. If you’re ready to step into that next level, get in touch here.
